The front line
goldenmeg: I’m doing my best to be on the front line of humanity. Up here where it is do-or-die and you have to take care of yourself if you are going to live to battle another day. This battle is against fear, hunger, discrimination, hate. I’m up here to protect those who cannot fight. Up here kindness and wisdom rules. Music, art and conversation are weapons. Weapons, in the right hands, that...

The pictures below are of images of whiteness. The open spaces that pureness takes in and breathes out. I drown when I was a child. Thus my love for the Margaret Atwood poem. A part of me is always water.  I take on the weight of expectations and the release of cleansing. I am in between the white space of peace and the chaos of knowing too much too soon. These images define that part of...

Photograph of Me
This Is A Photograph Of Me Margaret Atwood It was taken some time ago. At first it seems to be a smeared print: blurred lines and grey flecks blended with the paper; then, as you scan it, you see in the left-hand corner a thing that is like a branch: part of a tree (balsam or spruce) emerging and, to the right, halfway up what ought to be a gentle slope, a small frame house. In the background...

Get out of the Clouds?
Reasons I will never fully get out of the clouds.  The view is way better and you can spot the closest candy store much faster.  Even though at times people will envy your outlook; there is no better outlook.  You don’t stop believing in the things those people have forgotten even exist.  When others lives are sad and blue they secretly dispise you and are mean. Truth is they wish they...

Child of the Universe
“You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars: you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.” Max Ehrmann The Desiderata

Huck and Tom
My friend Sophie lives in Maine. We go on adventures like Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn. Last time I visited we found a ton of beautiful old bottles like these. We pulled them out of the soft earth and found them hidden under leaves and amongst other earthly treasures. I brought some of them home with me. They sit at the base of my bathtub and hold wild flowers in summer and greenery in winter. Mostly...
