…Sometimes I get so fixated on Whack-a-Mole miseries (“Poor me!”) that I neglect to step up to the pinata moments. I’m a sucker for pinatas because for me they represent taking a wild swing at life and flying with exhilaration when it cracks open raining gifts and blessings on my head. I’ve always been a sensation junkie, needing more, better, faster in order to feel alive. Always waiting for “real life” to begin in some vague future time. Always seeking a big epiphany, the one that will change my life forever. I’m starting to understand that pinata moments don’t have to be hair-raising adventures; in fact, I’m more blown away by being able to recognize everyday extraordinariness.
