I’ve been tracing the silhouettes of black barren trees against skies at sunset,
following colors
for inspiration and a daily escape.
I’ve been counting the days
until you arrive,
until we can share this beauty together.
I’ve been reminding myself to surrender,
to let go,
to listen,
more to the music and my heart
than the chaotic stirrings all around me.
I’ve been chasing the moon full and bright
spinning in circles under the stars
wrapping my fears in the hues of sunset: orange and purple and pink.
I’ve been writing our story,
day by day,
week by week,
hour by hour,
and wrapping it in all the things that comfort me.
Trees, animals, sky-lines, song, warmth, peace,
so that I may pass it’s goodness on to you.
I’ve been dancing to March.
